I Love My Church

For 3 days, we worshiped together. Played together. Lived together. Dreamed together.

Many of us were strengthened, refreshed, touched and inspired to continue building this church – our church.

Coming up in early November…we are celebrating our 13th anniversary – 13 years of dreaming and building together under God's direction and blessing!

CCM is part of Hope Christian Fellowship, and if you come to church on Sundays, you will meet a whole range of people from different cultural backgrounds – including this lovely Korean family up there!

When I (Jasmine) visited Sunday School to teach the kids a song, I also got to know Maria a bit better – I've never realised how enjoyable Sunday School can be. If you love kids, this is a great avenue for you to serve and learn.

Anyway, we are celebrating Father's Day soon. We want to honour, love, and cherish our fathers, and if you have a picture of you and daddy you'd like us to put up on Father's Day, please send it in to Tiffany. Our massive Father's Day Photo Collection is going to be very exciting – celebrating fathers through little snapshots of life…

Fundraising Sunday

Hope Christian Fellowship organized our very first auction last Sunday – and thanks to the enthusiastic participation and hard work of everyone involved, we managed to raise more than $2000 for our Dare to Dream church camp! Well done!

It was great to see everyone chip in and do their bit for the church – Hannah cooked Black Bean Basa Fish (which unfortunately, I did not get to try), Jeanne created a delicious red bean soup, and Melissa, Margaret & Lucy baked some really awesome cheese tarts that left KJ salivating for more even while the tarts were still baking in the oven the night before! There were also some Zambian, Thai and Korean delicacies to go around – what a great way to share culture in a church family.

When we were cleaning up, I was particularly touched to see our new visitors helping to scrub all the pots and pans – thank you so much Sandra, Xinqi, and Adeline for your servant hearts.

Joe Chong did a fantastic job as auctioneer and sold off many items to happy customers. Fierce bidding wars erupted from time to time, and we witnessed a close struggle between Kenny and Moses to obtain a prized baritone! Moses eventually won the bid – well, Kenny, you've gotta try again next time!

To everyone who worked hard to make the fundraiser a success – may God bless you. Let's make sure the fruit of our labour does not go to waste – now that we've raised enough money to subsidize the church camp, lets do our very best to come to the camp so that together, we can build God's kingdom more effectively as a family!

Dare to Dream

Hope Christian Fellowship is having our church camp from 5th to 7th October 2011. It is a precious opportunity for us to build relationships with one another and align ourselves with the vision of the church leadership, and our heart is for every member to come along. To raise funds for the camp, CCM is selling tickets for the movie Transformers, screening at Palace Nova Cinemas on Monday evening, 4th July 2011.

Little Billy's Story

Tony Campolo once counselled at a Junior High camp where kids were really mean, and he shared this story in his book, You Can Make A Difference.

Don’t get me wrong. I love junior high kids individually, but the gang at this junior high camp was really bad. Their meanness was focused on an unfortunate kid named Billy…He had cerebral palsy and his brain was unable to exercise proper control over the movements of his body or his speech. The other kids mocked him. They called him “spastic”. Billy would walk across the grounds of the camp in his disjointed manner, and the others would line up behind him, imitating him and mimicking his every movement.

The level of meanness reached its lowest point on a Wednesday morning. Billy’s cabin had been assigned the morning devotions for that camp of 150 kids. All of the boys in his cabin had voted for Billy to be the speaker. I knew, and they knew, that he couldn’t do it; they just wanted to get him up there so that they could mock him and laugh. They thought it would be fun to watch “spastic Billy” try to deliver a devotional talk…I was seething with anger as little Billy got up out of his seat and limped his way to the platform. You could hear the titters of mocking laughter and sneering going through the group...

He took his place behind the rostrum and started to speak. It took Billy almost ten tortured minutes to say, “Je-sus loves meee! Je-Je-Jesus loves meee! And I love Je-Je-Jesus.” And when he finished there was dead silence. I looked over my shoulder, and there were junior high school boys shaking and trembling and crying all over the place.

A revival broke out in that camp and kids turned their lives over to Jesus. A host of junior high boys committed their lives to Christian service. I wish I had kept count of how many ministers I have met as I travel across this country who have told me that they gave their lives to Jesus because of the witness of a “spastic” kid named Billy.

If God could use him with all of his limitations, what makes you think that God can’t use you to touch the lives of other people? If God can transform the lives of people through the likes of little Billy, don’t you dare tell me He can’t do great things through you.

A Clarion Call

Have you ever thought about how CCM happens every Wednesday night? What happens before and during any event that Hope Christian Fellowship organizes? :)

Who does the administration work? Who takes care of the finance?

Who picks up rubbish after meetings?

Who organizes games?

Who makes arrangements for the venue? Who organizes transport? Who sets up music equipment? Who practices the songs and leads the worship? Who sets time aside to pray? Who cooks the food?

1 Cor 12:14 says the body of Christ is not made up of one part, but MANY, and the Bible goes on to say that EACH OF US has a specific part to play in it.

We are grateful to the countless people in our family who have decided to play their own unique part and serve in unique areas, and today we would like to ask:

Would you like to play a part as well?

Do you have a musical talent and wished to be trained up? Can you drive people to church? Are you willing to come early and arrange chairs so we can have a good orderly service? Like to cook?

Congratulations to our faithful CCMer Timothy Li who graduated with a Bachelor of Marketing recently! Tim is one of our Life Group leaders and we are really happy for his success.

Tim also wants to thank God for providing for him recently. He ran into some hiccups with his student visa renewal, but it came through in the end after a long wait, and Tim is now pursuing his Masters at UniSA. God is a GOOD God and we can put our trust in Him. :)

On another note, we celebrated Pastor Brendan's (21st?) birthday at church on Sunday! Pastor Brendan is like an oak tree, providing solid leadership for Hope Christian Fellowship for more than ten years now. CCM comes under Pastor Brendan's authority and we would like to honour him here by expressing our gratitude for his humble service and wise guidance.

To all CCMers, how has the first half of the semester treated you? Did you learn lots at uni? What did you learn about God in the past few months? If you are going to the Oceania Convention, remember to take time out to prepare your hearts. If not, HAVE A BLAST at Rock Climbing tomorrow (18 April 2011), rest well, and get recharged in the hols.

From One Friend to Another

Appreciating the little joys of life, she jumps like a 3-year-old at the sight of the puddle of water in front of her; doesn't mind getting all drenched, embraces the beautiful creations of her magnificent Maker with gratitude and solitude. She dirties herself with chocolate, playing up different faces in front of the camera. She is not scared to express what’s deep down in her and is someone who is true to her feelings.

Joanne Paynter a.k.a Jo, is the joyful Aussie girl in CCM bursting forth with passion and strength, so contagious that even when you’re feeling down, a fuzzy warm hug from her would blow that cloud on your head away.

Jo loves life, people, nature and ultimately, she loves God, who first loved her. Her willingness and boldness is surely something I could learn from her. Having a beautiful voice, she serves as a back up singer in CCM and also in church on Sundays as well. She writes wonderful songs with meaningful lyrics too! She always gives credit to God for what she has, as she is aware that God is the centre of her life and everything good comes from Him.

Jo is active volunteering in events outside church. I remember participating the Live Below The Line event last year alongside with a few other friends. We had to live under $10 for a week to raise fund to help the poor. It was really an eye-opening event, and doing it together with friends adds to the joy of it. It was Wednesday after CCM, we went to Hungry Jacks with the other CCMers. However, we got ourselves a can of tomato soup and a loaf of bread since we didn’t have money to spare for food from Hungry Jacks, it was great fun nevertheless, we were satisfied with the meal we had and also we learnt to be grateful for the food we have each day.

Talking about food, I grabbed a bite with her the other day. We were at Subways. She opened her sandwich and ate one layer at a time, starting from the bread, the carrots, the other veg, cheese, meatball then only the last layer of bread. It was a very rare way of eating!

Jo has been like sunshine liberating warmth and love to the people around her. She has a really big heart (not to forget a very amazing smile) :)! Thank you Jo for being such a blessing! We love you!

Discovering CCMers: Reuben Koo

Has anybody here met Reuben Koo yet? Also known as Mr friendly bus driver?

For those you have not known him,you may think he is scary and fierce. Well, do not let the thick eyebrows to deceive you. He is actually a very shy guy, but once you've known him long and well enough, you'll find that he is very friendly and kind hearted. In Hope Christian Fellowship Adelaide, he is known as the servant hearted man.

He will go all the way to do what he's told to do ever since he first stepped into Hope Adelaide.

Hailing from Sarawak, Malaysia, Reuben wasn't a Christian when he joined CCM. However, he came faithfully and three years later today, he plays a leadership role in the church. He also picked up the bass guitar so he could fill a gap and serve in the music ministry. What displays his servantheartedness is how he faithfully drives a van full of music instruments to load and unload before each CCM meeting, drives early to church for morning prayer on Sundays, and he is the 'sifu' or pro in setup as he has been quietly doing it for sooo long! If you notice, he will be among the last ones to leave after a tiring day because he has to pack up and clean up after us!

So don't be fooled by his thick eyebrows. if you get the chance,talk to him. If you want to learn bout serving whole heartedly he's the man! If you are interested in helping out to drive the church bus and share Reuben's load, please let us know! :)

Reuben also loves to eat chicken and Korean instant noodles as you can see in the picture, so if you're wondering how you can do something nice for Reuben, you know what to do.

Reuben, I (Margaret) appreciate you very much for being such a great friend!

Discovering CCMers: Meet Melissa

At CCM today, Andy sprung a surprise.

Melissa Wee Yun, CCM's Master Chef was invited up on the hot seat to be interviewed!

To help you get to know some of her most delightful quirks better, here is Melissa through my (Jasmine's) eyes. I recommend talking to Reuben if you'd like to find out some of her other precious traits.

Melissa has a little girl's heart: she bribed me to use the picture on the left as the front page of the next CCM newsletter after being left out in the last one. She was also upset that she didn't get to model for the CCM camp flyers. HAHAHA! Obviously a picture that says "Melissa is so hot" cannot go on the newsletter, but it can definitely go on the blog! :) So here's to Melissa's hotness! :)

Melissa is generous: I overheard Andy speaking to Mel the other day, and he said, "I think your family is just really good. There's something good in there." Agreed! The Wee sisters are generous and hospitable, good cooks, and they love to share good things.

Melissa helps make me pretty: Melissa offers me hair tips, dressing tips, teaches me how to make my tummy smaller, and many many more, such as checking that I use enough toothpaste to brush my teeth. Sometimes I feel a bit sad that I have never had many girl friends who would take the initiative to do that for me. I wish more girls would be like Melissa.

I agree with Melissa that she has grown over the past year – from a backbencher and an observer to someone with initiative, someone who tries hard to step outside her circle of friends, and someone who shares her knowledge!

Thanks Melissa for being such a screaming delight!

Hi guys! How have your holidays been? It's been a month already...refreshed yet? Or have you guys been slacking?

CCM might have drawn to an end, but it will continue to run in December for those of you who are staying back, so please come and join us while you're still in Adelaide. We still want to encourage each other in our walk with God even though it feels like everyone has left.

A few reminders for the holidays:

Enjoy your holidays! You've worked hard this year, and after the stress of the final exams, it's always good to take a break! Well done to those who achieved their academic goals, and to those who didn't do so well, don't be disheartened! Learn from your experiences and keep persevering.

Pray up: When we slack in physical exercise, we become out of shape. This can happen to our walk with God as well! God is not only there for times when you are stressed or going through difficult times, He loves you and wants to be involved in every aspect of your life, even when you're having fun during the holidays. So, don't forget to build a relationship with Him through consistent prayer and going to church. You don't have the excuse of being busy with exams anymore - you're on holiday! Yay!

Spend time with family: God placed family as an important institution in your life. Appreciate them for all they have done for us by spending quality time with them when you are back. ;)

Reflect on your year: What does God have in store for you in 2011?

The Wednesday night meetings will be taking a short break in January for the leaders to rest and reenergize themselves, but we'll see you at O-week - a major event we are gearing up for with all our resources:

Year End Goodbyes

What with exams nearing the end, the curtains are certainly falling on a great 2010, and the time has come again for trips to the airport to send off CCMers who are leaving for home.

It sure is a little bit sad, especially for those who are not going anywhere for the summer!

The first to leave Adelaide was Sheldon from China. As we were sitting at Hungry Jacks in the airport, Sheldon reflected upon his year, and he said leaving home for such a long period of time (nearly a year) was definitely a challenge he successfully overcame in Australia! His experience here with us has strengthened and enriched his life, and Sheldon is very excited to see his family again. He has also successfully broken through the Great Fire Wall and notified us through Facebook that he is well and safe. Lol. :) Be sure to drop him a message and stay in touch with him over the holidays!

Besides Sheldon, we've also sent off Winnie and Serene at the airport. In the coming weeks, there will be many others leaving to see beloved friends and family in their home countries. Remember, you are a precious part of our family and we look forward to seeing you again when you come back - reenergized and refreshed!

Christmas is just around the corner

Jingle bells..jingle bells...jingle all the way! Whee! Who is excited to know that Christmas is just around the corner?

We definitely are! We're not just excited about Father Christmas, food, and festive cheer -- Christmas actually carries a whole deeper meaning behind it. No, it's not just about receiving lots of presents (although that's exciting too), Christmas is actually a reminder and a celebration of our Saviour Jesus Christ's birth -- the GREATEST present God gave us!

Have you ever celebrated the true meaning of Christmas? Hope Christian Fellowship is celebrating Christmas together in the park this year. If you'd like to have a meaningful time with friends and family this festive season, bring them along to the park to sing some carols, enjoy a sausage sizzle, and have a whole lot of fun!

To top that off, we also did a little project of love to raise money for the church building fund: handmade Christmas cards bursting with creative festive cheer!

Don't you feel a warm tingle in your heart? As loyal members of Hope Christian Fellowship, why don't you show your support by buying one at $2.50. Write a heartfelt message to someone you care deeply about, and let the card do its magic in brightening someone's life.

EXAM HORROR

Exams are coming up! Stress, stress, stress. maybe not so much for some of you who might have started studying since beginning of the year, but for some of you out there who are trying to cram your brain with 12 weeks worth of knowledge, I know it's crazy, because I have been there before!

Well below are some ways to make sure you are ready physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually to take those exams, from someone who has gone through my uni years and come out victorious.

1. Pray

Spend a few minutes praying before starting any revision. Believe it or not, God is always here for us in every aspect of our lives. He definitely wants us to succeed.Learning to rely on God's strength can give you strength and peace especially when going into the exam hall.

2. Lose the Excuses
It can be easy to put off studying until the last minute. DO NOT procrastinate guys..We will always have this mentality to do things the very last minute. Get real! It will never happen especially at the last minute. You will suffer and you might get an emotional breakdown. So get yourself ready and be prepared.

3. Eat Well
Many of us have bad eating habits during the exam period. We will be drawn to junk food like chips and cookies. However, you may find that those foods are not very helpful to your brain (which is already stressed from cramming 12 weeks worth of knowledge!) and to your body. High sugar foods may give you energy at
first, but then the levels plummet pretty quickly. Try to eat healthy "brain foods" high in protein like nuts, fruit, and fish. If you really need a boost of energy, try Red Bull (doesn’t apply to everyone)

4. Get Your Rest
Sleep is one of the most important tools you have in preparing for exams. You may feel stressed, like you don't know everything you need to know, but a good night's sleep can help relieve that stress. A lack of sleep can end up clouding your judgment or increasing your number of mistakes. Get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep a night, including the night before your exam.

5. Practice For Your Exam
How do you practice? Write your own exam. As you are studying, write down questions that you think may come out in the exam. Then begin answering your questions. If you get stuck, just look up the answer. By taking the "practice test" you will be much more prepared for the real thing. That is what I normally do.

6. Take a Breather
Breaks are a good thing. Even the test preparers of major tests know the importance of taking a breather, as they schedule them into the test time. Studying can take its toll on you, and after a while the words and information can just seem like a jumbled mess. Step away from what you are studying and just clear your head with something different. Then continue (remember point 2).

7. Have Some Fun with CCM
Yes, exams are stressful, and you may feel like you have to devote all your time to studying. However, if you develop a good plan you will have some time to spend with friends, and God! Make some time to come to CCM to just blow off steam. Taking an hour or two to get away from the stress is a good thing. It will make your head a bit clearer when you back to studying and you will feel reenergized (ITS TRUE!!!)

Discovering CCMers: Albert

Everyone, wave hello to Albert, one of our faithful CCMers who has been with us for 2+ years now!

Albert is from China, and he recently graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science. We were all there to celebrate his success and also God's faithfulness in his life!

In CCM, we have a culture of supporting our members and caring about what's going on in their lives. We hope to do life together, and celebrating Albert's graduation is simply one of the ways we appreciate him and cheer him on.

Albert is a very funny guy. I remember when our life group went on a hike at Morialta Falls, Albert was eagerly taking pictures for everyone every five minutes. Also, he stayed up all night the night before, and he spent two hours cooking rice for all of us using a pot because none of the rice cookers in his house were functioning. He came with 8 tupperwares full of rice packed in his backpack!

"I'm very touched by how all of you give so much to CCM, to me, and to God, and now I want to start to give back," Albert says when asked about his motivation.

God has turned Albert's life around in many ways, in ways his friend described as 'dramatic'. As a result, you always find Albert testifying about how gooood God has been to him!

Nope! I am not going to tell you more. If you want to find out about Albert's life, get to know him. You'll enjoy it, he is such a blessing as a friend!

Our very own basketball team

For some of you who don't know, our church has a basketball team and it is called HCFA (Hope Christian Fellowship Adelaide). How cool is that?
Not too long ago, we competed with other churches in Adelaide and guess what?? We won the championships after many rounds of competition! Hallelujah.
The league was organized such that the teams prayed together before every
match.

It was really awesome to watch how our team worked together in unity, showing love and care for one another, even to their opponents. They have been training hard every weekend, and to see their effort pay off was very fulfilling.

Of course, behind every successful team is the awesome supportive cheer squad! The faithful CCM-ers will attend every game after Sunday Service and cheer til their voices turn hoarse!

The after game celebration dinner is also filled with plenty of satisfied laughter. :)

Our Sunday Service @ HCF

If you pay attention, you'll find lots of interesting things happening even on a typical Sunday celebration service.

The troops start coming in at 7.30am, where Pastor Brendan leads us in prayer to prepare our hearts for the service, and invite God's Spirit to move in our midst. Nothing can happen without prayer.

After that, various departments get set up: musical instruments on the stage, chairs line by line, the kitchen crew start cooking (this week it was African, yummy!), and Sunday school and Creche materials appear.

Since we moved to our new venue, we've been trying to find a suitable place for the younger children to play in during service. Because we are out of rooms, we came up with a very creative idea this Sunday: a room built with walls of chairs!

Service then begins with a time of prayer (this time with the whole congregation), praise, announcements, tithes and offerings, worship, and then the preaching of God's word. After lunch, Christian Development School (CDS) classes are conducted in various areas to equip us better with the knowledge of God's word.

This week, the Choir class of CDS gave us a special presentation during service! Alison (who is pregnant and looking forward to a cute baby!), Vivian, Malcolm and Tony sang All For Love, which is a song about God's unconditional love for us. It was probably Malcolm and Tony's first time singing on stage and they did a wonderful job!

During the service, we also prayed for Tony, our dear brother who is leaving for Brisbane to take up a job offer. He has been a blessing to us for the past two years as he is such a giving person! We pray he will continue to sing his heart out in Brisbane and fulfill God's destiny for him.

Building a Fortress of Prayer

Prayer is powerful because it shakes heaven and invites the supernatural to move on earth.

Recently, the church leaders have encouraged us to invest more time in our prayer life and to build a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let's hear what some of the CCM-ers have to say since we've started to build more prayer into our lives:

Miin Huey who is one of the CCM Leaders was the quickest to reply my email! She read Lamentations 3:20 this morning, and this is what she said: "It spoke well into my heart about keeping our prayer life alive in the midst of good times, bad times.... ALL the time. Despite our inequities, God is faithful, his compassions never fail (Lamentations 3:22) and are new every morning. The promise of the Lord is that He will be good to those whose Hope is in HIM and those who Seek him (Lamentations 3:25)."

Next we have a shout out from Joanne Paynter who studies Development Studies: "I have gone from someone who thinks that there is so much darkness in this world, thinking that we can only do a little bit to have a temporary impact upon the lives of those who are subjected to unjust circumstances...into someone who knows NOTHING is impossible! When I prayed and prayed, God opened up my eyes to see that the difference He can make through us is eternal, more than we could ever imagine! God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20)!"

And lastly, Civil Engineering student Chris Quek says, "Since I started spending time with God in the mornings I have found that God really loves me, my burdens have been lifted from me and He has given me His rest, which is the promise of God in Matthew 11:28. Just like two best friends would, we love to spend time with each another, and in the presence of my Father I find hope, love and peace. He gives me strength to live each new day with joy!"

A Father's Footsteps

Last Sunday, Hope Adelaide celebrated Father’s Day to honour and appreciate about 25 fathers in our midst! This year theme was “A Father’s Footsteps”.

Everyone, from young to old expressed their gratitude to their fathers in different ways…

The kids decorated a huge Happy Father’s Day message with magical touch-ups by Tiffany and gang and supervision from the dedicated Sunday School teachers! They overflowed and bubbled with adoration and love for their fathers, it was such a blessing to watch them on stage

We also had two fathers sing a song and recite a self-written poem, and also a multimedia presentation of the fathers expressing what they’d love to impart to their kids.

During the service, Pastor Brendan prayed for the fathers and gave them a special gift each.

They were also treated to a special sit-down lunch where the table was beautifully decorated with candles and stars.

We at CCM are proud to have played a part in honouring our fathers: from coming to pray at 6.30am on the day, setting up the chairs and doing the decoration, serving food to the fathers, and washing up after that.

We want to honour our heavenly Father with our efforts…and ultimately, express our love to Him for revealing more and more of His father heart to us each day

'Love never fails...' 1 Corinthians 13:8 NKJ

This is a tough passage to read if you've had a bad experience of 'love'. Maybe someone told you they loved you, then left you all alone and hurting. Maybe someone you loved lied to you, and you still don't understand why. Maybe you've lost someone close to you, and you just don't get it. If that's love, how can it 'never fail'?

Well, the first thing to realise is that we humans don't always get it right-but God does. Where we fail in love, He perfects. Where we get it wrong, He succeeds.
But then you might think: if God's love is so perfect, why does He let bad stuff happen? Well, if a parent and child are walking along the road next to each other, and the kid trips and gets hurt-did the parent let that happen? Whose fault is it? Does the kid think the parent isn't showing love? No-not when the parent picks the kid up and tries to make it better!

The truth about God's perfect love isn't that He never allows bad things to happen to us. What we need to grasp is His promise that when they do, He'll be with us to pick us up, carry us and help us through. His love is perfect, and it never fails. He's always there right next to you, loving you, when you need Him most.

WOW..Hillsong united concert was A-W-E-S-O-M-E..what can I say? God touches His people in every single way. Who says Christians cannot be cool?

Look at the place. It was packed with at least a thousand (I bet there were more) YOUNG people (like us). Most excitingly, young christians. You know I always tell myself this and I told Serene Teh at the concert, "How can God not be real? Look at the amount of people worshiping the same God! Are you telling me that this is all coincidence?"And that is only in Adelaide. When I was at Hillsong Conference in Sydney, it was massive! We are talking about the whole stadium was packed with christians! We are talking about filling up the whole entire train with Christians. It was so massive, I had to squeeze through my way into the train. It was truly an eye opener...it always refreshes you spiritually too to attend events such as this.

Guess what? Two people from our group got touched by God that night and they accepted Jesus as their Saviour! We celebrate with them as they begin their journey with the greatest hero on earth, ever: JESUS CHRIST.

We want to thank Hillsong United for serving us with raw, passionate music that glorifies our Saviour, and for helping us engage with God in a deeper way without any distractions. God deserves our best worship, in a concert, out of a concert, and in every aspect of our lives.

I pray that God will help us carry that passion with us as we go to uni, do the dishes, hang out with friends, and continue with our daily lives this week.

Did you know your life is a war-zone? We're not talking Afghanistan or Iraq, but the battle going on for your life between God and the devil. And you have the power to help God win. How? Well, in a battle, each side has strongholds-in other words, bits that belong to them. If you can identify where the devil has a stronghold in your life-the things you struggle with, the times you always mess up-you can ask the Holy Spirit to go into those areas and fight alongside you. He will, and God will get the victory there.No war is won overnight-it takes time to identify the strongholds, seek them out, move forward and bit-by-bit claim back the land. Don't get fed up or give up if things don't suddenly get all fine and dandy within minutes of you praying-it may well take a bit of time. Make sure you go to God each day, and ask for His help to fight it out in those tough areas.Remember that no battle is too big for God. Check out the story of David and Goliath. (1 Samuel 17) It was only by asking for God's help that David won when it looked like an already-lost battle. Let God help you. Let Him claim back those areas in your life that He's not ruling over any more. Then you can enjoy living in His victory.

Well, what CCM has been doing in End of August ?

A lot I guess that is why we have to send another newsletter out just in 2 weeks time.!

Firstly there was the Red night where about 50 of us got together and enjoy the red night. There were some get to know you games, a short time in Gods word and whole lot of fellowship and eating food that is red !

Next there was the Hope Christian Fellowship 10^th Anniversary. What a blessing it was to see a lot of CCM members did their first choir song presentation and enjoy their fellowship with more than 200 people that came. Here are some photos of the day….

And or course we have met every Wednesday at 6:00 for our weekly bible study in the Harry Medlin Room, Union Building, Adelaide Univeristy. PLEASE REMEMBER: ALL ARE WELCOME TO COME ALONG AND SAY G’DAY ANY AND EVERY WED NIGHT. So if you have not come along yet then why not come along and meet some new friends and learn more about our God.

Hi Everybody and Welcome to the CCM (Campus Christian Movement) Update for August 2008…….. this is where we give a brief update of what we have been doing and keep you informed of what is coming up!

Well, what have you been doing……. I hear you ask?

Easy to answer….HEAPS!

Firstly there was the HUGE Multicultural night where about 120 of us got together to Celebrate O’Week early this year. There were some get to know you games, a short time in Gods word and whole lot of fellowship and eating food from around the world!!

Next there was the O week camp at Challenge hill during the uni holiday and also Semaphore beach outing.. What a blessing it was to see participants working together tackling those obstacles track and having their best time there! Here are some photos of the day….

Just a month ago ! we had a skirmish or paint ball organised for some of the members at Normanville.
